The Marketing & Community Relations Department at Sierra View Medical
Center is happy to assist the media in getting timely and accurate information
for news stories. This department is here to help coordinate interviews
with staff, patients and their families, and doctors on our medical staff.
The Marketing & Community Relations Department is also your resource-along
with this Web site-for general hospital news and information.
From time to time, a member of our department may contact the media regarding
a possible news story or breaking development here at the hospital. Likewise,
we encourage all media members who may have a health-related story in
mind to contact our department. It's our goal to work together with
the media to provide the public useful information on the latest at Sierra View.
Visiting Sierra View
We're happy to accommodate media campus visits at any time, as long
as a member of the Marketing & Community Relations staff is notified
prior to the reporter arriving at our facility. We also ask that media
members become familiar with
HIPAA regulations prior to entering our facility.
Even if contacted first by a patient family, all media visits to SVMC must
be coordinated through the Marketing & Community Relations Department.
Federal law and SVMC policy require that a signed "Consent to Photograph"
form be completed by a patient prior to any photographs being taken.
Media members must be accompanied by a SVMC staff member at all times while
on the hospital campus.
Please be advised that while every effort will be made to secure patients
for interviews, often times this is not possible due to privacy and/or
health issues. If it is not possible to get a face-to-face interview with
a patient, our department will attempt other avenues, such as a phone
interview or at-home visit after the patient is discharged.
