The City of Porterville is located on the eastern edge of California's great Central Valley--where the agriculturally rich flatlands end and the foothills of the majestic Sierra Nevada Mountains begin. Temperatures here are generally mild. Summer days are typically warm and dry and winters normally see cool and crisp days with periods of fog. The nearby mountain ranges provide a great escape from the Valley heat in the summer and can also provide for a beautiful, snow-covered playground in the winter.
