Our Breastfeeding Resource Center offers a range of supportive services for expectant mothers and throughout the breastfeeding journey. We provide free resources and expert guidance in both private and group settings. As Tulare County's sole Baby-Friendly hospital, we prioritize the mental and physical well-being of children by adhering to the current evidenced-based breastfeeding practices.

Breastfeeding Outpatient Services

If you would like additional assistance with breastfeeding after you leave the hospital, you can make an appointment to visit privately with a Lactation Consultant at the Breastfeeding Resource Center. A Lactation Consultant can assist you with:

  • Breastfeeding questions or concerns
  • Breast/nipple pain
  • Latching difficulties
  • Low milk supply
  • Medication safety
  • Pumping and going back to work
  • Sick or hospitalized babies
  • Slow weight gain

Breastfeeding Classes and Support Group

In addition to one-on-one outpatient lactation support, the Breastfeeding Resource Center offers free monthly breastfeeding classes and a peer-led breastfeeding support group. These programs provide education, encouragement, and a supportive space for expecting and new families.
