Sierra View Foundation Board Members Recognized

In 1992, the Sierra View Foundation was established as a non-profit organization to invest in the future by promoting community philanthropy, building lasting relationships and promoting a positive image of Sierra View Medical Center. On Thursday, January 19, 2017, the Sierra View Foundation welcomed its new Board of Directors to continue carrying out this mission as a non-profit organization.

The Foundation held its annual installation dinner on Thursday at Rosa’s in Porterville to recognize their new board officers of 2017. The Sierra View Foundation Board of Directors oversees the operations of the Sierra View Foundation which is a 12-member board of volunteers that includes community leaders and activists who are dedicated to a healthy future for the hospital and the people it serves.

On Thursday, Dennis Townsend was re-installed as Foundation Chair after serving in 2016. Debbie Landers, who has been a Foundation Board member for 11 years, was also re-installed after a year of service as Vice Chair. After nine years of membership, Bill McKinley was again honored as Treasurer after serving in 2016. Janice Castle, a Foundation Board member of nine years, was installed as Secretary for 2017.

The Foundation will host two major fundraising events in 2017, the first being the Sierra View Golf Classic on April 21 and the second being the 11th Annual Sierra View Foundation Gala on September 16. The Sierra View Foundation Board will continue to raise funds and awareness for Sierra View Medical Center, encourage donors to leave a lasting legacy, and expand and strengthen healthcare services throughout 2017.
