Food & Nutrition

Sierra View Medical Center of Porterville, CA

At Sierra View, we know that nutritional care is an essential part of the healing process, and prepare each meal for our inpatients according to their specific doctor's orders. Diet orders may be changed or delayed by doctors in anticipation of certain tests or medications.

Our nutritional care team includes a registered dietician and coordinates all of our patients' meal services. We do everything in our power to ensure that a patient's meal is enjoyable, while meeting his or her dietary restrictions. Additionally, patients may request to speak with a clinical dietician to discuss nutrition therapy and/or diet education needs.

For Family and Friends

We understand and appreciate your supportive inclinations to bring food from outside the facility to your loved ones. However, it is required that any food brought to our patients be first approved by a nurse or dietician who can ensure it is meeting the patient's dietary criteria.
