Vaccine Safety

COVID-19 vaccines are safe and effective. The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) states that people who have been fully vaccinated can start to do some things that they had stopped doing because of the pandemic. It typically takes two weeks after vaccination for the body to build protection (immunity) against the virus that causes COVID-19. Vax for the WIN

To reinforce the importance of vaccination to protect public health in the face of a pandemic, CDPH is conducting a series of drawings for prizes. Drawings for $50,000 will take place on June 4 and June 11, 2021. Fifteen persons will be drawn at random on each of those two dates. A drawing for ten $1.5 million prizes (totaling $15 million) will take place on June 15, 2021. Vaccinated Californians are automatically entered through the statewide California Immunization Registry (CAIR). Those getting vaccinated starting May 27, the first 2 million will get a $50 cash gift card that is redeemed 7-10 days after their vaccination series is complete. CDPH estimates it takes 7-10 days to fully get entered into the CAIR vaccine registry following the administering of the vaccination.
