SVMC Launches Town Hall to Address COVID-19 Concerns

Our CEO/President Donna Hefner and Imperial Ambulance's Operations Manager Sean Roberts took a moment to discuss COVID-19, vaccines and boosters and emergency care in our area. SVMC Director of Marketing, Public Relations and Foundation Kimberley Pryor-DeShazo moderated the conversation and field questions sent ahead of the conversation as well as some arriving live.

The sense of collaboration inherent in the team work between Sierra View Medical Center is particularly pronounced during the pandemic. Under more normal circumstances, the pre-hospital services rendered by Imperial Ambulance are vital to the care continuum involving hospital care at the emergency department. During this pandemic, that is still the case but Imperial Ambulance has become a community vaccination partner for Sierra View Medical Center and together with the help of other agencies, they have administered more than 20,000 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine.

As the Omicron variant sweeps through Tulare County, Hefner and Roberts answered questions about vaccine hesitance and vaccine safety. Hefner addressed staffing at the hospital and provided information about COVID-19 safety protocols for visitors, patients and staff.

The first SVMC Town Hall of 2022 follows a collective SOS call for help issued by Central Valley hospitals including Sierra View Medical Center on Saturday, January 15, 2022.
