Visitor Restrictions Lifted Following Respiratory Season
News
Sierra View Medical Center has lifted its visiting restrictions as local respiratory illness activity has declined. The temporary precautions, first implemented on December 29, 2025, were put in place to help protect patients, visitors, and staff during a period of increased influenza (flu), respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), and COVID-19 cases.
Beginning April 1, 2026, children 13 and under may again visit patients in Sierra View Medical Center’s Acute Care Units, Distinct Part/Skilled Nursing Facility (DP/SNF), and the Roger S. Good Cancer Treatment Center.
“We appreciate the community’s understanding as we implemented precautions to protect our most vulnerable patients,” said Donna Hefner, President and CEO of Sierra View Medical Center. “While the number of respiratory cases has decreased, we continue to encourage healthy habits that keep everyone safe.”
Sierra View Medical Center reminds the public to stay home when feeling sick, wash hands frequently, and stay up to date on recommended vaccinations to help prevent the spread of respiratory illnesses year-round.
Sierra View Medical Center remains committed to the safety and well-being of our patients and community. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation during the 2025/2026 respiratory season.
