The
Sierra View Breastfeeding Resource Center offers free breastfeeding classes and a peer-led breastfeeding support
group for expecting and new families. These programs provide education,
encouragement, and connection at every stage of the breastfeeding journey.
Both offerings are supported by Ann Margaret, Sierra View Medical Center’s International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), and are open to the community.
Our monthly Breastfeeding Classes help families understand what to expect before and after baby arrives. Classes provide clear, research-based guidance and practical information to support a successful breastfeeding experience. Topics include:
Class topics are the same each month. If possible, attending before the 36th week of pregnancy is recommended; however, all new parents are welcome to attend at any point during pregnancy or after delivery. Partners and support people are encouraged to attend.
Time: 4:00 PM - 5:30 PM
The Breastfeeding Support Group offers a relaxed, welcoming space for mothers to share experiences, ask questions, and learn from one another. The group is peer-led and offered in partnership with Tulare County WIC, with our Lactation Consultant available to provide support as needed.
Mothers are welcome to bring their babies. Support people may also attend, with the focus remaining on the breastfeeding mother.
Time: 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM
Both the breastfeeding classes and support group are held on the same days each month at the Breastfeeding Resource Center, located on the second floor of the Sierra View Medical Center Medical Office Building.
Upcoming Dates:
Both the breastfeeding classes and support group are free and offered on a walk-in basis. No registration is required.
