designated hospital in Tulare County, our Breastfeeding Resource Center
provides free resources to help parents prepare and thrive through the
important first months of their baby’s growth and development.
Breastfeeding your baby within the first hour of birth and exclusively throughout their first six months of life will positively impact your child's development. The Maternal Child Health team is committed to helping you achieve your breastfeeding goals. Whether you are a first-time mom or a mother of many, our nurses work individually with you teach baby care, breastfeeding, and provide ongoing support to ensure success.
After your delivery and during your postpartum hospital stay, you will have the option to receive private bedside breastfeeding education and assistance from one of our Lactation Consultants. Being Baby-Friendly means Sierra View Medical Center has well-trained staff to support all mothers by assuring they have the information needed to make an informed decision about how to feed their baby. Every mother's choice is respected with evidence-based teaching.
