Sample Schedule of an Inpatient Day

  • 6:30 AM - 7: AM: Receive handoff from the overnight team.
  • 7 AM- 8:30 AM: Assess patients, review results, and prepare for rounds.
  • 8:30 AM - 11 AM: Participate in team rounds, bedside teaching, and care planning.
  • 11 AM - 12 PM: Complete patient care tasks and coordinate discharges.
  • 12 PM - 1 PM: Attend an educational conference.
  • 1 PM - 5 PM: Manage admissions, perform procedures, and follow up with patients and consultants.
  • 5 PM - 5:30 PM: Provide a structured handoff to the evening team.
