The Sierra View Medical Center Internal Medicine Program offers a comprehensive benefits package for residents which includes medical, dental, vision and other benefits.

  • Medical, Rx, Dental and Vision: Offered at the same rate and coverage as offered to full-time employees (employee pays a portion through bi-weekly payroll deduction).
  • Retirement Plan: Can participate in 401K
  • Flexible Spending Accounts: Can participate - This includes healthcare, childcare, etc.
  • Voluntary Benefits: Offered to residents
  • Employee Assistance Program: Offered
  • Disability Insurance:
    • Short term – paid by exempt employee (rate depends on age)
    • Long term – Employer will pay for coverage to amount of annual salary
  • Life Insurance: Cap for both plans is $510k
    • Plan 1: Enrollment in a health coverage plan provides the option $10,000 in life insurance.
    • Plan 2: Enrollment in a retirement plan provides the option of a double annual salary.
  • Vacation and Holidays: 15 days of paid vacation and five days of education leave per academic year.
  • Malpractice Insurance: Paid by SVMC
  • Worker’s Compensation Insurance: Paid by SVMC
  • CA Training Fee: Paid by SVMC
  • On Duty Meals: Meal allowance of $1,000 given annually
  • Housing Allowance / Relocation Costs: No housing allowance or relocation cost reimbursement. Housing cost for a program mandated away rotation will be provided through program arranged housing.
  • Education Stipend: Residents receive an allocation of $750.00 per year for conferences, books and other educational materials.
  • Miscellaneous:
    • 3 lab coats provided
    • Life-Lock Identity Theft Program paid by ER
    • Exempt Employee Discount prices at Sierra View Brew Coffee Corner
    • Resident’s lounge (refrigerator stocked with beverages / snacks for on call / as needed consumption)
    • Rally Website Wellness Program if enrolled in Medical Insurance – up to $20 reimbursement for gym membership if gym is frequented 12 months per year.
    • iPad provided for hospital use to access EMR, UpToDate, virtual library, telehealth visits.
